The LA Collection

February 8th, 2010

IAMSOUND is proud to present The LA Collection, a series of limited edition split 7-inches to be released this year, starting from February to August, in collaboration with one of our favorite UK record stores, Pure Groove Records. All artists are LA acts hand-picked by IAMSOUND that represent the true talent and diversity that we believe LA has to offer. LA is one of the world’s largest and most vibrant cities and yet our music scene is wholly underrated whenever compared to other artistic hotbeds such as NYC and London. We wanted this series of releases to help bring together an LA scene and showcase the depth of talent that exists in this city. All of the artwork is done by local artists Ingrid Allen and Elisa Saether, with typesetting by designer Aaron Rose.

We kick off the LA Collection with a 7″ from LA eclectic dance purveyors We Are The World, out February 16th (this one is not a split though).

Artists include:
We Are The World
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes
Fool’s Gold
Local Natives
Dead Man’s Bones
Rainbow Arabia
Nosaj Thing
IO Echo
Pocahaunted
Signals
Actually
Moonrats
Imaad Wasif

We Are the World 7″ COMING SOON!

December 14th, 2009

We’re very excited to announce that the next 7-inch vinyl single released by IAMSOUND will be by LA band We Are The World, in conjunction with Pure Groove Records in London.

The 7″ will be available for purchase January 25 in the UK and January 26 in the US.

The group’s thrilling live performances and pounding bass have been winning over crowds in Los Angeles for a while now, playing with The Gossip, Fuck Buttons, Tricky and many others, and the band’s music has been described by LA Weekly as “art-damaged electronica” and by Paper Magazine as “pop [taken] to stranger outer space”.

Tracklist
A) Clay Stones
B) Moons And Cattails

Check out the awesomely creepy video for “Clay Stones” below, and don’t forget to visit We Are the World’s MySpace to stream the single.
